There are so many beautiful, historic buildings in Vienna that I often walk around with my eyes looking upward (fortunately I haven’t run into anything yet). These are shots of a couple of elements of the Hofburg Palace, a former palace that is right in the center of the city. Vienna does a nice job of lighting up many of these buildings at night, which makes for some nice opportunities for me to hone my skills in night photography.

I can’t wait to see these when I visit Vienna one day..Thanks for sharing the photos!
Thanks. Vienna is indeed a beautiful city. I visited here first in 1993 and love having the chance to return periodically, especially at this time of the year.
If you fail to raise your eyes above street level in any city you’re letting yourself down. There’s so much fantastic architecture around the world and so many people fail to appreciate it.
You’re absolutely right. The first time that I visited Vienna years ago, though, I leaned that you also needed to look down too, because people did not clean up after their dogs. Fortunately, things seem to have improved in that regard.
Lol! We were warned about that in Paris but it was grossly exaggerated 😀
Night photography isn’t easy, but these look good.
Wow great quality of the photos! You can actually distinguish the colors as vivid as possible at nightime!
Thanks. It was a little difficult without a tripod, but I propped my camera against any immovable object that I could find. The lighting of the buildings help the color to be as visible as it was.
