Some words are just fun to say out loud. How can you not smile when you repeat the words “Zowie Zinnia?”
I think that is the correct name for this colorful little flower, which helps to brighten up the gloomy weather that has descended on us the last few days. Zowies usually have much more showy displays, but I like the way that the colors and shape of this young plant are set off against the backdrop of the dark green leaves.
“Zowie!”—it sounds like something Robin would say to Batman (and of course it would need to be punctuated with an exclamation point).

Have missed your blogs. I’m not getting emails saying you’ve posted, even though I’m still following. Yours isn’t the only one. Sure like the heron picts.
Don’t know what the story is with emails, but I have been posting pretty regularly. Glad you like the heron photos. As I mentioned, I was pretty lucky that I had a mellow heron that did not seem to be bothered much when I got pretty close to him.
