I love the spectacular colors of the Asiatic lilies that are now blooming in the garden of my dear friend and neighbor Cindy Dyer. These brilliant colors, which look almost neon in their intensity, were especially welcome yesterday, when it was gray and rainy the entire day.

Those are beautiful flowers. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen them.
A simple, very beautiful composition. I think of a slow, contemplative, jazz piano solo.
Thanks, Michael. I love your lyrical description.
Love the shape and striking colours.
Thanks, Chris. I am never fully confident when taking flower photos, so tend to follow my instincts. My favorite piece of advice that I remember getting when I was just starting to get serious about photography was that I should not feel constrained by a perceived need to include the entire flower–it is really cool sometimes to focus on strange angle or only parts of the flowers. Flowers don’t seem to mind when I cut off their heads in a photo the way that people do. 🙂
Beautiful!
Thanks, Eliza.
These are gorgeous. Cindy must have an amazing green thumb.
She does. As a photographer, she likes to plant flowers that are photogenic. 🙂
I love the colors on these lilies!
Very nice series of images Mike! Enjoyed seeing them!
Thanks, Reed.
