The world seems to have gone crazy recently, so I look for any signs of happiness and positivity that I can find, like this beautiful Eastern Bluebird (Sialia sialis) that I spotted on Monday at Occoquan Bay National Wildlife Refuge. The relatively subdued coloration of this bird suggests to me that this is a female bluebird.
Bluebirds are traditionally associated with happiness. It is my hope and prayer that somehow amidst the chaos of cancelled plans and possible quarantines, you will be able to pause and find a few moments to be thankful for what you do have.

Thanks for the reminder. We traveled to western Kentucky last weekend and saw so many bluebirds! They are quite cheery!
I must say, I’ve never seen such a wide-eyed bluebird. It seems rather astonished by whatever it is that it sees.
Nice Mike! They should be returning here soon. We have a local park that they seem to like. So every year we look forward to their return. Fun to see & photograph as we are walking there.
Great bird, great message. These are dark days, yet nature gets on with its business untroubled by quarantines and cancelled flights. There is still joy in the world, if only we take the trouble to look for it.
Thanks. We need to encourage each other. It is depressing for me to look at my retirement accounts that have plummeted in value along with the rest of the stock market. Seeking out beauty in nature is a good respite from worrying about things over which I have absolutely no control.
The markets should recover in a few months, when this virus has run its course. Meanwhile we need to hold our nerves, and find consolation in the wonders of nature.
Wonderful image and very nice thoughts,. I echo them, Mike.
Amen, thanks Mike, and same to you.
A little someone very dear to my to my heart would love this Orange-Bluebird! This fellow most definitely earns that descriptive name. “Take a quiet walk with Mother Nature. It will nurture your mind, body and soul.” – Anthony Douglas Williams. Be well! Thank-you, Mr. Mike.
Thanks, Ellen. I hope all is well with you and your whole family. Pass on my greetings to Benjamin whenever you see him next.
Thanks so much, Mike, for bringing this bluebird of happiness to my eyes and heart today.
Fortunately we can still take some solace in Nature’s gifts. This virus is a person to person thing so we can turn to the outdoors on our own with hope that all will return to normal in the not too distant future.
It’s hard to look at your lovely bluebird shot and not feel some hope.
Thank you Mike, and the same to you.
Great attitude Mike. Thanks for the encouragement.
What a sweet picture of this bluebird! Thanks for the smile!
That is a super photo, Mike! Definately a big positive vibe coming off this! 🙂
Thanks for the reminder. We still have so much to be thankful for.
Absolutely beautiful sentiment, Mike. Thank you so much for this uplifting message ☺️
