Three Wood Ducks (Aix sponsa) silently swam into view in the early morning light, their passage creating a trail of ripples in the still waters of the little creek. A sense of tranquility filled the air as another day slowly began.

That sense of tranquility even comes through in the photo Mike. The ducks are beautiful of course, but the water, reflection and ripples make the whole thing a very beautiful composition. I love this photo!
Thanks, Liz. You have described wonderfully what I like about this image. The elements that you describe work together to create a mood that transcends the individual elements. I usually am so focused on trying to get in close to the subject and capturing details that I forget that photography is best when it helps to channel emotions and tell a story.
