Despite the “common” in their name, I don’t see Common Wood Nymphs (Cercyonis pegala) very often. I was therefore pretty excited to spot one this past weekend at Huntley Meadows Park.
I’m pretty sure, though, that my excitement does not qualify as nymphomania.

In this case, even if it did qualify, I think it would be all right. 🙂
Nice one!! I’ve never seen that white spot so clearly before. They are so skittish, flying away when I approach.
Thanks, Sue. These butterflies are indeed skittish and I was fortunate that this one paused briefly in a tree before flying away.
You also caught the interesting design of a leaf miner. Great photography!
I had to look up leaf miners to realize what you were talking about, Sally. Sometimes I am so focused on the main subject that I don’t even notice the other elements in an image.
And it’s probably a good thing, too. You’re getting bolder with your whimsical titles, and it’s a great way to start the day with a good smile!
Thanks, Gary. In many ways my blog is a reflection of my personality–I have a quirky sense of humor and love to play with words. Once I started this blog, I quickly came to realize that it was as much a creative outlet for my writing as it was for my photos.
Stunning photo, Mike.
Thanks, Pete.
