It was really easy to find Blue Dasher dragonflies (Pachydiplax longipennis) near the hotel where I stayed in Woburn, Massachusetts this past weekend. The challenge was capturing them in interesting poses, which was a bit more difficult than usual because they were unusually skittish—maybe they are not used to seeing people.

Very nice! I know how hard it is to photograph them!
You seem to have risen to the challenge quite well. Did these return to the same perches after their first skittish reactions? I especially like the second one.
Thanks, Gary. Sometimes they would return to the same perches, which is pretty normal for Blue Dashers, but many times they would fly back and choose nearby perches that were somewhat farther away from me.
