On my final night in Vienna, I took a long, leisurely stroll through the pedestrian district in the city’s center, enjoying the magical atmosphere created by all of the different Christmas lights that adorned the streets.

They do Christmas well there!
A wonderful time to be in Vienna–lucky you–and I love the shot of the falling snow! My best for the holidays, Mike!
Thanks, Gary. Alas, there was no falling snow in Vienna during this trip–the tiny twinkling lights were part of the beautiful lighting display. Have a wonderful Christmas and a blessed New Year.
You captured the magic — very lovely photos.
Thanks, Jet. It was a good challenge for me, because I was shooting with my 2005-era Canon A620 point-and-shoot camera, which, among other things, maxes out at ISO 400. As a result, I would look for stationary objects against which to brace myself when taking these night shots.
What a spectacle!!! Beautiful images~
Thanks. They were definitely spectacular in a restrained kind of way, i.e not like a Las Vegas hotel.
What lovely lights and well captured. It’s a tough task to take night pictures.
Thanks. I was able to lean against all kinds of things to steady myself for these shots and was thrilled at the way that they turned out.
