My daylight hours have been fully occupied during a short work trip to Vienna, Austria, but I have managed to visit a couple of the Christmas markets after dark. I took these shots at the one at the Rathaus (City Hall) with the small point-and-shoot camera with which I travel.

Tripod? Camera sitting on wall? Or does your point and shoot have that handheld twilight mode option? these are great shots, however you managed.
These were done by leaning against various objects. My old Canon A620 tops out at ISO 400,so I had to compensate. They worked out pretty well.
It did indeed.
What? You got to go to Vienna for Christmas? A true Christmas wonderland. I am so jealous, but at least can enjoy the beauty through your wonderful captures. Thanks Mike!

I am here for only four nights, so it is a pretty busy time, but it is nice to be able to visit the different Christmas markets, even though some are very commercialized and very crowded.
It looks like such great fun…Wonderful photos.
The Christmas markets in Europe are the best. I miss them.
Happy travels 🙂
Thanks, Marie. In just a few hours I’ll be heading back to the USA from Vienna. Have a Merry Christmas!
Thank you. You too
