It’s difficult not to feel a bit like a voyeur when you spot a pair of ladybugs mating. They consummate the act in public view and their bold coloration makes them almost impossible to miss. Still, there is just something loveable about ladybugs and I doubt that many readers will find these images objectionable.

I have to know pictures like this as bug porn and I have quite a view images. It is interesting that ladybirds breed like this as the other insects I have captured are connected bum to bum. Really nice macro work.

Excellent macro! I’ve been into shooting Bug-Porn for awhile myself, I think I have about 8-9 pics of various mating bugs.I do feel a bit creepy for intruding on them..:-)

Maybe you have underestimated these ladybugs. How else would they get featured in Mike Powell’s famous blog? Not only did the scheme work but he made them look fantastic.
