Thanks to Tchaikovsky, swans seem to have cornered the market for bird ballet, so some local Canada Geese (Branta canadensis) decided to organize themselves for synchronized yoga competitions instead. At a recent practice that I observed at a small suburban pond, they were having some issues in coordinating their left single-legged pose—one of them had trouble remembering which leg was the left one. What a silly goose. 🙂

Nice Mike! It is nice to see some Humor in these stressful times!
Thanks, Reed. I totally agree about the importance of humor. Initially I was going to play around with the idea of what to do to get your ducks in a row when you have no ducks, but instead went the yoga route. We all need fun in our lives.
Funny to look at 🙂
I love the fact that the pattern is disrupted by the one muddled goose as a little asymmetry in any art form tends to appeal to me.
I spend 20 years in the army and have had more than enough experience with precise formations. I too find asymmetry to be appealing now. 🙂
I’ve never seen geese do that. Thanks, Mike.
Great shot!
It’s a stamina contest. Who can maintain the tree pose the longest? 🙂
This is a pose that I tend to associate with colder weather. On the occasions when the ponds freeze over hear, the geese will stand on one leg with the other tucked in to keep it warm.
This made me smile, Mike.
It’s fun to be playful and attempt to be funny from time to time in my blog postings, though I have a notoriously warped sense of humor, so I get as many groans as laughs when I tell jokes. 🙂
I like the groaners.
Haha, love it!
I’m rather wishing that you’d suggested: “Honk if you like this.” You sure have mine. Can you hear it across the miles?
You didn’t? Well I’ll add mine … honk honk HONK HOOOONK … hear that? 🙂
Thanks, Liz, for your honks too. Your response reminds me of a television commercial for a cell phone company that was quite popular a few years ago. The spokesman would wander all around repeating over and over again, “Can you hear me NOW?”
😀
Loud and clear!
Indeed I do, Gary. I have heard a lot of honking geese the last month or so as flocks of geese have flown overhead.
You know I love this sort of humor! I saw it as soon as you posted it, but did not make time to answer right then!
I am happy to hear, Molly, that I am not the only one with a warped sense of humor.
This has got to be my favorite commentary of the year! The image is wonderful too. LOL!
Thanks, Nina. 🙂
