The sunflower was big enough that an Eastern Tiger Swallowtail butterfly (Papilio glaucus) and a bumblebee could peacefully coexist, though it looks like they had each carved out their individual spheres of influence and kept a respectful distance from each other.

Nice shot!
Love it! You are always ‘right there’ to capture things!
Thanks, Carol. I spent a lot of time observing nature and like to spend time each subject more than moving around continuously.
Great example. I am getting pretty good at guessing which photos are yours when they show up in my reader.
Hmm. I hope that is a good thing. Although I occasionally step out of my normal subject area, I tend to have a certain approach to many of my photos that is similar.
I didn’t intend for it to be negative – I can guess quite a few bloggers if that makes you feel any better:)
Don’t worry, Lyle. I did not take your comment as negative. In fact, I actually think that it is a good thing to have a recognizable style, much like painters do. Sometimes I can look at a given painting and can tell who the artist is, by his choice of subjects and techniques.
You’ve got some great depth of field there — everything is in focus. Beautiful shot!
Thanks for noticing, Sue. It helped that there was a lot of light that day, although there were some light clouds to start the day, so the light was not too bright.
