Earlier this week I managed to photograph this male Mallard Duck as he secretly practiced the ancient art of Zen levitation. Note his closed eyes and relaxed concentration as his body is gently lifted out of the water. With sufficient practice, Zen master ducks can take off and land in this position, like a helicopter or a Harrier jet.

Really like the motion of this picture 🙂
Thanks. It’s an interesting combination of motion and non-motion. Some of the movement is frozen (like the water and the duck’s body), but the sense of motion, I think, is enhanced by the blurred wings
Great action picture and what an imagination!
Thanks. It’s strange what comes to mind when I shoot an unusual photo.(Let’s just say that I have unending curiosity and an active imagination).
I can relate. I always question things. Sometimes I think I think in questions.
Does it do “one wing clapping” as well? 😀
Great shot! I love how you’ve captured the movement of the wings while the head remains still and in focus. Funny commentary, too!
Thanks. I really like the effect I managed to achieve, although I must admit it was not really planned that way. As for the commentary, I thought it would be a fun way to present an image that I really like.
