July was a crazy month no matter how you look at it. Who knows what the new month will hold for us all? When I checked the garden of my friend and neighbor Cindy Dyer a few days ago, I was thrilled to see that some of her gladiolas are now in bloom, symbolic of the new life and growth that is still possible in our own lives, even in these troubled times.

….simply gorgeous, Mike. You really now how to bring it.
Thanks, Lance. Cindy’s side garden alongside her townhouse is pretty small, so my real challenge was to get a background that was pleasing–the concrete front stairs are not very photogenic. It turns out that there is beauty all around us and I love drawing viewers’ attention to it.
….and you certainly succeed
Beautiful flower, photograph, and thought! 💕
Beautiful words and a fabulous photo. Thank you Mike.🌸
Peaceful, beautiful and hopeful photo, Mike. Thank you for sharing this beauty.

So nice to bring some color in these difficult times…
Thanks, I tend to optimistic in my approach and periodically try to do positive posts like this from time to time.
Let’s hope everything starts to turn in the right direction in August, Mike.
Thanks, Dan. My optimistic side is hopeful, but the current trends are admittedly more than a little troubling.
Right…they seem to have a “life evolves” quality about their growth.
Thanks, Bonnie. I have always thought they were rather strange looking, but I definitely welcome the color that the gladiolas bring.
Love that color!
Let’s hope August isn’t as hot as July. It’s been beastly!
Thanks, Eliza. I definitely could use a bit less heat and humidity for sure.
That is a beautiful picture! Where I am August is about to bring a tropical storm!
Hoping you manage to stay safe. We’re expecting to get a pretty good amount of wind and rain, but nothing like the coastal areas. I am planning to stay off of the roads today.
Thank you! And stay safe as well!
Beautiful glad color, Mike.August has to be better than July…although right now you re experiencing what comes with late summer. Hope the storm isn’t too damaging.
Thanks, Steve. I think where I am at it will mostly just be heavy rain, as much as 3-5 inches are forecast.
Just lovely! They come in such a wide variety of colors. It takes all I have not to purchase every bulb. But then I realize I would have to plant them and my body says that was fine 15 years ago! No more. I just enjoy them in the yards of others now!
I too am a spectator when it comes to gardening. Fortunately my friend Cindy loves to plant new flowers all of the time, so I generally have lots to photograph in her garden.
