The pose of this bullfrog seemed almost Zen-like, as he contemplated the early morning sun in a calm, meditative state of mind and body.

Mike this is one of your best! The lighting is amazing, along with the composition, depth of field- really nice work
This is superb!
Thanks. Some of my favorite images are ones with very ordinary subjects, like this one.
So true. To your credit, you make the ordinary look majestic.
Neat! A really beautiful photo.
Thanks. Just when I think I had posted enough frog photos, I caught this one in some interesting light. This has been a summer of frog photos for me, especially because I was able to find some little tree frogs.
Thotful look or sleeping with his eyes open? I’ll go with thotful. Great photo.
It may be anthropomorphism, but I like to think the look is pensive.
I always know I’ll see the close and intimate world when I come to your page. Excellent!
Thanks. During the spring and summer I have a strong preference for using my macro lens. Even when I use a telephoto, I like to get in close. Landscapes are a real challenge for me.
Even the water looks peaceful!
This is a beautiful shot of something common and easy to see. I think it is shots like these that help get people interested in nature, rather than shots of grizzly bears and timber wolves that are out of the reach of most of us.
Thanks. I totally agree with you. You and I both are pretty comfortable photographing things in our local areas that others might not notice and raising the sensitivity of others to the beauty and diversity that surrounds them.
Ohmmmmmm…ribbit! Great shot..:-)
Glad you liked the shot. There was one part of me that questioned whether I should post yet another shot of a frog. However, I really like the shot and that is always enough justification for me to show it to others.
Truly a great picture. Fantastic to see your development.
Thanks. A year of regular shooting has taught me to see better and to photograph better.
