From a distance, I couldn’t tell why the stems of this plant were bright red in color, but when I got closer, I realized it was covered in little red insects. I think that these might be aphids, but I am not completely sure. There were ladybugs in some nearby plants, and if these are in fact aphids, the ladybugs may be in for a feast.
Does anyone have a better idea what kind of insects these are?

They are indeed aphids. Cool photo.
Do you know what plant this was?
I was not able to identify the plant. (I’m lucky if I can identify an occasional bird or insect.)
That is a wonderful photo. Just in time for the Christmas season:)
I had the same thought when I realized the photo was almost all red and green and wondered if anyone else would make the connection (and suspected that it might be you).
… and still respecting each others space 🙂
Those are aphids, and that plant won’t be thriving for long unless the ladybugs get busy.
Picnic on a stalk. Nice color contrast. Like the detail you’ve got here.
That is a might fine photo!
How can one get rid of these?
I don’t know too much about getting rid of these little pests. Ladybugs love to eat them and I think there is a way to use a soap spray, but I defer to others on this topic.
i have these bugs on my plants too but i dont know what they are but my guesses are an undiscovered/unnamed species, aphids, or clover mites.
wow! living art!

Yes, aphids. And how lovely this photo is. I like hearing that the stem was red at first sight. There is so much life on earth, especially when we take the time to stop and look more closely.
