It has been cloudy and rainy almost all of today and I feel a need for some bright colors. Here’s a shot from last December of a male Northern Cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis) decked out in Christmas red.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.

Fantastic photo!
A great example of complimentary colours Mike. All the best to you.
Thanks so much, Robert. I should probably learn some more about color theory. 🙂 Best wishes to you too. We INFP’s need to stick together.
Lovely Mike
Great shot! I love the way the cardinal is glancing over its shoulder. That makes it an intriguing and engaging image. I like the strong vertical composition too and the complementary green against the red feathers.
Thanks so much, Laura. I love getting feedback from an artist. You are able to describe the image in a way that I understand, but would have trouble articulating myself. Your words help me to understand a bit better why I like the image so much.
I’m so glad you find my comments helpful despite my not being confident with discussion about technical aspects of photography.
That’s a great shot. The green post looks like part of the Cardinal’s tail. Brilliant! Merry Christmas!
