Thanks, Charlie. I definitely agree that it is the lighting that gives this photo much of its interest (though the old buildings of Brussels are beautiful in almost any light).
That really is an incredible spire, isn’t it? I’ve admired it many a time, and your contrasting it with the far-simpler one on the church is very effective. Must love Brussels!
The last couple of years I have managed to make at least a few trips to Brussels and I always make a point of visiting the Grand Place each time to marvel at the amazing architecture and the cobblestone square itself.
