What do turtles think about? When I came upon this red-eared slider turtle (Trachemys scripta elegans), that was my first thought. Perched at an angle on a branch, the turtle seemed to be lost in contemplation. His eyes looked out over the expanse of brown, muddy march water, but he seemed inwardly focused.
Maybe this is a form of turtle yoga.

He’s thinking — am I warm enough yet to go swimming?
It’s gotten into the 80’s some of the days this past week, but things are starting to cool off a bit as a colder front moves in.
Clearly he’s in the yoga position called “cobra”! Great shot, Mike!
I figure that if the cartoons can have Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, I can have Yoga Turtles. Thanks for your positive words!
Since you mentioned “Handsome Meadow Katydids”, everything’s started to sound like band names to me! Now also “Mike & The Yoga Turtles”. 🙂 And today “Calee & The Mushrooms” were jamming in the Amsterdamse Bos (pictures of our gig will follow..)
The colours are so vibrant! Great shot!
