Do you chase after butterflies? I do. There is a simple, uninhibited joy in running around a meadow in pursuit of a butterfly, waiting for it to perch, hoping to capture its beauty with my camera.
It’s still a little early for some of the larger, more colorful butterflies, but last week I was able to photograph this beautiful little Clouded Sulphur butterfly (Colias philodice).

Beautiful Mike. I love the detail of the powdery wings and delicate shades.
I think we need a wide-angle video of you chasing around the meadow!
I sure do chase after butterflies and just about anything else with wings, but I rarely end up with a shot as good as this one. Maybe I need to stop chasing and let them come to me.
I wait patiently all winter for the time to chase butterflies.. 🙂
I love the idea of this post, as I think so many of us can relate to running about just as you described! Your recent post about dragonflies in flight made me remember I’d never gotten back to post a comment here. (I also love Lyle’s suggestion!! 🙂
I am glad that no one id videoing me when I shoot, because I assume all kinds of odd positions and chase after tiny creatures that may not be visible to observers.
