Great shots. But excellent point. I have felt the same way maybe about some of my own efforts.
I think it’s the eye.
I totally agree. The ospreys look a little bug-eyed to me and that color is a little jarring.
Interesting I don’t see it. I just like the shot and get focused on the eye.
I guess for me the eyes seem so intense and so oversized that they seem a bit cartoonish.

Thanks, Sue. My bird season may soon be coming to a close as leaves appear, blocking many of the birds from view, and as insects and other small critters reappear.
