Strange as it seems, I have been seeing more butterflies in the waning days of summer than I did at its height. I think that this little beauty, which I spotted on Monday at my local marshland park, is a Clouded Sulphur butterfly (Colias philodice).

So lovely, the color of the butterfly on the buttercup of the flower.
Brilliant photo with great colours that feel slightly of autumn. Perhaps a cold spring has meant that the butterflies are late hatching this year of the warm autumn is keeping them going.
Gorgeous…I love how you used the elements in your photo to make it so engaging.
Amazing….I have been having the same experience! Only wish I could document all the new and different butterflies I seem to be seeing lately. Very lovely photo.
Thanks. It’s always really nice to see new things, even if I can’t always get shots (or even identify what I have seen).
Good color and composition, Mike!
Nice shot!
Beautiful shot, Mike! By coincide it’s the same for me, I see more butterflies and also dragonflies now than I did in July-August.
