I love the way that the folks at Nalls Produce Center chose to display their wide variety of autumn produce—it is almost like a work of art. It was a challenge to photograph the wall of produce and I never did get the angles quite right. so all my photos were crooked to one degree or another. I thought about trying to photograph individual boxes, but decided to photograph them in multiples of varying numbers.
As I look overt the images I continue to marvel at the differences in size, shape, color, and texture of the fruits and vegetables on display.

I love Nalls, they have great plants and fresh veggies etc. but also beautiful displays. Not to mention the funky chickens and their pet pig.
You could use your pictures to teach kids their times tables.
Do they even teach the times tables any more? 🙂
The simple and unfortunate answer is often no—along with history, geography, grammar, government, etc. You’ve probably seen features on television in which people interviewed on the street show that they know appallingly little about the world other than pop culture.
That is a great display and you’ve captured it well. The variety of pumpkins / squashes available here continue to impress me. Back home in Scotland, we really only got the generic orange ones and even then only in recent years. Growing up in Scotland with our Halloween tradition (which is known as Guising) we had to carve lanterns from turnips. Turnips would not make such a fetching display or appealing photograph, I’m certain.
I too am amazed at the variety that was available at this produce center. Growing up in the suburbs, I never saw this many types of pumpkins and squashes (and am hard pressed to tell the difference between a pumpkin and a squash). They are certainly colorful and make wonderful decorations. The stand also had some really big pumpkins that probably weighed at least a hundred pounds.
Nice!!
what a creative idea for halloween
A very nice collection. Very interesting exhibit!
