Green bee in orange lily
June 15, 2015 by Mike Powell
I don’t have a garden, but fortunately my neighbor and fellow photographer Cindy Dyer has a wonderful one. Earlier today I photographed this green metallic sweat bee (genus Agapostemon) coming out of one of her orange daylilies.

Very artistic Mike! Great mix of the soft colours of the lily and the dark bee!
Thanks, Chris. I sometimes feel like there is a creative part of me that is underdeveloped and I am always happy when I capture an image that lets me be “artsy.”
Great Mike. I have a garden, but it is a massive mess right now and really needs some work done it in, I would love to get it looking good so I can do that type of photography.
Thanks, Leanne. I think the easiest approach is to ignore the garden and “borrow” the garden of someone else. It’s a lot less work that way. 🙂
LOL good point.
Stunning shot!
Thanks, Victor.
Nice shot!
Thanks.
Cool bee and great photograph! I like borrowing other people’s gardens too. I’m an appreciator :-).
