Sometimes when the Great Egrets (Ardea alba) are moving from one place to another at Huntley Meadows Park, my local marshland park, they fly really low, almost like they are in stealth mode and are trying to avoid being picked up on the radar.

I hear great things of this park. Perhaps one day I’ll travel west to visit it.
Love the second shot with the wings flat out. If you could freeze him like that you could fly him like a frisbee or skip him across the water!
It was cool to get shots of the egret flying across the frame–usually all I get of birds when they take to the air is shots of their back side. Interestingly enough, the second shot is the one that I like the most. I don’t know about an egret frisbee, how about an egret kite?
Good idea! I think the Japanese have stork kites, and it just might catch on!
