What is street art? I tend to think of street art as a category that encompasses a broad range of artistic expressions in a public area. As I walked through the streets of Brussels during this trip, I saw art everywhere—underfoot, in the form of a brass grate in the street; in the air, in the form of a Tintin mural on the side of a building; and at eye level, in the form of a grafitti-covered security cover for a shop and in a stenciled image on the side of a potato delivery truck.

Very neat! I love the transformative power of street art. Thanks for the awesome post.
Thanks. I like the idea that art can be seen everywhere, and not just in museums, as long as people are willing to open their eyes and look around.
Love some of the creative expression I have seen in street-art…Some of the 3-D stuff is just stunning.
I totally agree with you, Charlie. There are some real artists out there. Unfortunately, some of the graffiti is really nothing more than an eyesore.
The fire escape drawing is so fun. I love stuff like this, thanks for sharing it.
Love the Tin Tin mural..:-)
It’s been on my to do list for several years now… go to Brussels and take the “comic book route” 🙂 So far I’ve only seen about 15 murals (from random comics).
I only learned a few days ago that there is a “comic book route,” just as I was getting ready to leave Brussels. I will probably go back in January and will have to venture out on search of some more of the comic book murals.
The Tin tin graffiti is my favourite but I think anything that brightens up a city street can’t be bad.
