Usually it is hard for me to find frogs, because they blend in so well with their surroundings, but that certainly was not the case with this bright green frog. Doesn’t he realize how much he stands out in that environment? I was able to spot him from quite a distance away.

I saw one a lot like him today.
I love frogs. They may not be the most exciting creature that I photograph, but they usually seem to have a smile on their faces (My perceptions may have been influenced by Kermit and the Muppets.)
He’s so cute!!!
It’s a girl. You can tell because the tympanum is smaller than the eye. Also, I think she is a bullfrog (rather than a green frog), because the ridge behind her eye curves around the tympanum. On a green frog, the ridges would continue down the back.
Thanks so much for your help in identifying the frog. I hadn’t really made much effort to do so in this case and had focused on the color differences. There always are new things to learn.
That’s great. Made me smile.
Except for the eyes, he looks like another leaf on the pond (lol).
