LOL—I noticed you changed the date. I wondered how you could shoot an image a week from now! Now that would be magic! The advance copy I got read 18 Aug. I thought, oh, my, the month is getting away from me. Beautiful shot!

Thanks. I was fortunate to be able to get to a clear spot on the shore where I could see him (most of the pond is surrounded by bushes and trees so it was a little surprising I had a clear line of view).
Beautiful bird. That pond might also be a good place to find some interesting wildflowers.
I’ll keep my eyes open. However, it’s a manmade pond in a suburban townhouse environment, so I am not sure we have all of the natural beauty that you would find at a “real” pond.
