Yawning or screaming?
May 27, 2018 by Mike Powell
This Bald Eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) couldn’t seem to decide if it wanted to yawn or scream this past Monday at Occoquan Bay National Wildlife Refuge. Either reaction could have been a response to my presence.

Like [yawn] … oh, not HIM again !!
This eagle was perched just above an eagle’s nest with two active eaglets (it’s a different nest from the one I featured yesterday). I like to think the “yawn” was the result of parental lack of sleep than of boredom with my re-appearance. 🙂
Hahaha 🙂
I feared that my humor was a bit to subtle for most people, but you certainly “got” it. Not much gets by you, Liz. 🙂
Thank you Mike 😉
Ha ha – that’s a cute observation, Mike.
When I asked Benjamin if the Eagle is yawning or screaming, he responded : “The Eagle is saying Go Away!” He also noticed that only one foot is visible, that was not noticed by me. Thank-you, Mr. Mike!!
