love the third shot 😀
Beautiful light.
The gardens are a little too formal for my tastes but it’s a beautiful city.
I think that is a palace in one of the shots, which may explain the formal gardens. I personally love the geometric patterns and can appreciate all of the work to get them to look so good.
Yes, I’d love to look at them but not be the one that had to trim them. That’s an unbelievable amount of work that never really ends.
Brilliant Architecture
These are beautiful photos, especially that golden light.
Thanks, Sue. The shot with the golden light was taken really late in the day, about 9:00 pm. It didn’t start getting dark until after 10:00
That shot with the spire and the moon is superb Mike. I’ve been in Brussels many times and its nice to see some familiar views of a city I love.
In my current job, I manage to make it to Brussels a couple of times a year. This most recent time, my hotel was not very close to the city center, so I had to learn more about the buses and subway. The moon was just coming up for that shot. I wish it had been bigger, but I was pretty happy with the way the photo turned out.
You are a lucky man to travel so much Mike. I’m lucky if Mrs Mjollnir lets me go to the pub once a year! Have you ever ben to the Kafka bar in Brussels? I thunk I’d died and gone to wee Belgian heaven! 😀
There is a pub we visit sometimes (one of my colleagues is a big fan of Strongbow cider), but I haven’t been to the Kafka bar. I’ll have to check it out my next trip, which may be as soon as September.
Aha! Roll on September then. Really cool atmosphere and sort of rundown jazz chic in the Kakfa. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it. I know I do when the wife’s not looking! 😀
